A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a PharmD, Sherif El-Refai serves as an oncology pharmacist at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Sherif El-Refai also maintains membership in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

The 2016 Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) will take place December 4 through December 8 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of the largest gatherings of pharmacists worldwide, attendance generally exceeds 20,000. The purpose of the Midyear Clinical Meeting is to improve patient care and medication safety and to provide pharmaceutical practitioners an assortment of professional development opportunities.

During the event, attendees will hear from a number of guest speakers and leading authorities in the pharmaceutical field. They can participate in a comprehensive program designed to advance their knowledge, enhance their practice skills, and learn about the latest products and innovations. By attending educational sessions, they can earn more than 30 hours of continuing education (CE) credits; there are more than 100 CE sessions to choose from. Special events include award ceremonies, the Spotlight on Science gathering, and an evening at the LIGHT nightclub.
